• Lectures : Will describe to students the fundamental principles of Human Factors in the design of systems and how these should be incorporated into the development process. Lectures will also cover the concepts relating to usability and how to conduct usability testing.
• Tutorials/Labs: Will provide an opportunity for students to discuss the principles of Human Factors and their importance in the systems development process particularly from the perspective of the literature. Some tutorial time will be reserved for practice where students will learn to design an effective user interface and conduct a usability test.
• Assignments and exam: A range of assignments will be given to students to explore the different aspects of the subject, in particular students will be required to read extensively to better understand the principles of the unit. The objectives to be achieved through the different teaching strategies are:
