Obsolete Reasons for Introduction

One of the specialisation streams in the MIMS is concerned with the development process for large-scale information systems. This stream is designed to give students exposure to a variety of systems development methodologies, techniques and tools in a range of different environments. The increasing use of the web as a medium for systems development and delivery represent a significant new disciplinary area. This unit will address this new professional requirement for MIMS students.

The increasing use of the web as a medium for systems development and delivery represent a significant new disciplinary area within IT. This unit is concerned with the development process for large-scale web-based information systems. It aims to complement other postgraduate units which focus on the specifics of web technologies.

The code for this unit has been changed from IMS5401 to FIT5118 in accordance with new faculty procedures
