Reasons for Change (07 Dec 2017, 11:36am)

The change to the assessment of FIT5031 is to be implemented effective from Semester 1 2012 to include an exam component. This change brings the assessment of the unit in line with the General Guidelines for the Standards of Graduate Units (http://www.infotech.monash.edu.au/about/committees-groups/ade/docs/guidelines-for-grad-unit-fec409-approved.doc):

"Typically a level 5 unit would be expected to be assessed by a two-hour or three-hour exam of at least 50% weight and two major non-examination assignments that comprise no more than 50% of the unit assessment."

07/12/2017 - Unit disestablished at FEC 5/17 Item 7.3.

24 Aug 2009 Shonali Krishnaswamy modified Assessment/Strategies; modified Assessment/Objectives; modified LocationOfOffering Pls Note: The change of Assessment/Strategies has been done to strengthen the research and reading component of the assessment. This a fifth year Masters unit with a strong element of research, given the advanced nature of the unit content. As such, I believe strengthening of that component is more appropriate to the teaching and learning process. Furthermore, the practical component is strong as it is and it seems repetitive to have further lab assessment for that aspect of the unit. The assessment/objectives have been changed to reflect the new changed assessment strategies. I also changed the location of offering to Caulfield as it is really only offered at Caulfield and not at Berwick. I think this was a mistake in the unit description. If I have made an error - I am happy to have the undone.
