During the review of the Bachelor of Information Systems it was determined that students needed a broad overview of development practices as they relate to multimedia systems. These are important concepts for students wishing to practice as systems developers. Students graduating within systems development have as key focus of their degree in developing their skills in analysis and project management. This unit applies their analysis and management in to a multimedia context.

2005: Existing unit IMS2401 Developing Multimedia Systems being updated to fit into the new BITS degree structure with new FIT unit code.

FIT3087 Management of Multimedia Systems Development is an elective 3rd level unit in the Caulfied BITS major in Systems Development.

This unit aims to provide students with a broad understanding of the nature of multimedia systems and the multimedia systems development process. In doing so, it brings together three key themes: the activities involved in the systems development process; the tasks and responsibilities of the participants in the process; and the attributes and competencies that are needed in order to carry out these tasks successfully.
